Slow infrastructure project inception, development, and resource mobilisation cannot meet the dynamics of Africa\u2019s demographic shifts and the African Union\u2019s objective of accelerating productive transformation over the next decades. Reaping the full potential of Africa\u2019s ongoing continental integration agenda requires more investment in infrastructure development in line with the objectives of the African Union\u2019s 2021-2030 Programme for Infrastructure Development in Africa (PIDA). Investment into African infrastructure has been sluggish despite the huge needs. This may be explained by a combination of higher perceived risks, limited knowledge of investment and financing opportunities, and a limited number of projects reaching the bankable stage.<\/span><\/p>\n

As part of the dialogues in the framework of the Accelerating and Scaling-up Quality Infrastructure Investment in Africa (ASQIIA) program jointly carried out by ACET\/AUDA-NEPAD\/OECD-DEV, this high-level ministerial dialogue will discuss the needs and most suitable instruments to sustain financing infrastructure projection, the pursuit of the African Union\u2019s 2021-2030 Programme for Infrastructure Development (PIDA) objectives, and the actions agreed in the 2nd Dakar Summit on the Financing of Infrastructure in Africa.<\/span><\/p>\n
