Ghana Business News published a report on PIDA Week 2024, titled Africa’s Scourge of Illicit Financial Flows and Infrastructure. The report highlights the Programme for Infrastructure Development in Africa (PIDA), a strategic initiative aimed at addressing critical infrastructure challenges across key sectors such as energy, water, transport, and ICT, to promote regional integration and economic growth.
Since its inception in 1991, PIDA has facilitated 433 projects, achieving notable success in the ICT sector, where 75% of initiated projects have been completed. The report also identifies key challenges that continue to hinder Africa’s infrastructure development, including insufficient access to clean water, energy deficits, and inadequate transport networks.
