Project Description

The project forms part of the upgrading of the 1,200 km of narrow gauge railway between Abidjan and Ouagadougou. In particular it involves the section in Burkina Fasso, from the border with Ivory Coast to Ouagadougou.

Project Objectives & Benefits

The objective of the project is to improve the connectivity between Abidjan Port in Ivory Coast and landlocked Burkina Fasso, and to offer multi-modal transport options for transporters in the region, thereby lowering overall transport cost.
